LifeBridge Health (LBH) is a regional health care organization based in Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Carroll County, MD. There are 1,947 beds with earnings of approximately $2 billion. There are an estimated 2,900 physicians on the medical staff and over 13,000 employees. LBH is seeking a Chief of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation to provide strategic direction and leadership of the Rehabilitation Institute at Sinai Hospital (RIS), the flagship program for the organization, and the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) services across the health system.
Over the past 60 years, RIS has become a destination center for advanced, interdisciplinary rehabilitation of individuals with complex impairments. There are more than 200 staff including nearly 150 therapists, many acquiring specialty and subspecialty certifications. There are 15 PMR board-certified Physiatrists also holding subspecialty certifications, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, pain medicine, electrodiagnostic medicine, independent medical evaluator, and integrative medicine.
The Chief of PM&R oversees all activities that set and support the strategic mission of the Institute, which is driven by the quadruple aim of clinical excellence, teaching, research, and advocacy. This includes advocating for appropriate staff expertise through professional growth and lifelong learning, coordinating and communicating the needs of the Institute to build a regional and national brand, developing the next generation of physicians and rehab professionals through teaching programs, and building on the strong foundation of the ABBEL Research division to support best practice and evidence for the effectiveness of Rehabilitation.
Our model pre-dates and reflects the PMR BOLD initiatives of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In addition to working closely with senior administration, the Chief works with other RIS leaders including the Director of Rehabilitation Services, Residency Program Director, Director of Clinical Research, others in the RIS management team across its 10 divisions, and Physician Medical Directors of the outpatient department, rehabilitation hospital, and pain center. Chief Responsibilities include a system-wide role with oversight of rehabilitation services at Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, Northwest Hospital, Grace Medical Center, LBH Partners Division.
Qualifications
- Board Certified in PMR. Additional subspecialty certification a plus
- 7-10 years of administrative and clinical leadership experience
- Previous chair or vice chair experience preferred but emerging leader with appropriate experience will be considered.
- Participation at the national level in the field of PMR.
- Research experience with a track record of presentations and publications.
- Experience with cultivating an environment of diversity, quality, teamwork, growth and improvement.
A generous benefits package is available. $375K- 500K based on experience, plus incentive.
